Executive Director

Carrie brings many years of leadership expertise to her role as Executive Director of SAME Café Denver, with a degree from Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco, seven years as Executive Chef at Table 6, five years in the nonprofit sector with Work Options, and two years in leadership at SAME Café Denver before being selected as ED.

In her free time, her other passions are gardening, hanging out with her dogs, making delicious meals at home with her wife, and continuing to live a life committed to sustainability.

Café Chef

Kim Brazile has been cooking professionally for 20 years in metro Denver. She believes that, “If you knew what I know about the power of giving, you would not let a single meal pass without sharing it in some way” -Buddha.

Kim carries this into a deep passion for food justice and nourishing the soul of her community through food.

Amelia Warriner (She/Her) amelia@soallmayeat.org

Café Program Manager

Amelia is originally from a small North Florida town called Port St. Joe and has been living in Denver since 2015.  

She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in General Health with a minor in Sociology from The University of Alabama and recently received her Master’s Certificate from University of Colorado- Anschutz in Health, Humanities, and Ethics . She has a long history with philanthropic work and was drawn to SAME cafe because of her past experiences with compassionate feeding programs. 

In her free time she likes to hang out in her yard with her chickens, her 14 year old cat, and her never ending landscaping dreams.  She also loves to craft and fire dance.

Outreach Chef

Casey’s culinary journey began at Vivaci in the Nob Hill district of Albuquerque, New Mexico over 15 years ago. After cooking around the city of Albuquerque, he working under Vincent Rivera and Steve Salazar as the Sous Chef of Restaurant Antiquity in Oldtown for 3 years. He then opened Clowndog Hot Dog Parlor with owner Rich Bartell as the pandemic began to subside, building a successful brand in a new and challenging environment.

The mission and passion driving SAME Cafe aligned with Casey’s goals and passions, and he is excited to begin this new journey with SAME Café Denver!

Maria Determan (She/Her)

Bilingual Community Outreach Coordinator

Maria started in August of 2022 at SAME Café Denver as a volunteer with Colorado Vincentian Volunteers (CVV). Originally from Omaha, NE, her passion for solidarity, advocacy, and healthy food access has kept her in Denver past a year of service to continue working with SAME. With degrees in theology and Spanish, she hopes to continue to expand SAME's bilingual resources making it an even more inclusive space for the greater community.

In her free time, Maria enjoys hiking, dancing, spending time with her roommates, and exploring the Denver food scene! 

Tyler Derrick (He/Him) tyler@soallmayeat.org

Café Cook Coordinator

Tyler volunteered through Urban Servant Corps as a year long service member in 2021-2022. Tyler joined the staff of SAME Café Denver in August 2022. Originally from Roanoke, Virginia, Tyler believes that the best stories are shared around the prep table.

In addition to building community at the Café, Tyler is deeply passionate about music, basketball, and finding local adventures in Colorado.

Isaiah Reitan (He/His)

Urban Servant Corps Service Volunteer

Isaiah was born in Washington state and is a recent graduate from California Lutheran University.  

While double majoring in Film Production and History he became increasingly interested in social justice work.

Volunteering through an outreach program, Isaiah is working at SAME cafe for the year in order to gain practical service skills and become better acquainted with the Denver community. 

In his free time, Isaiah enjoys media-analysis, learning about history and sociology, and hiking.

Colorado Vincentian Volunteer Service Member

Elizabeth “EB” Wunn started at SAME Cafe in August 2023 as a year long service member with Colorado Vincentian Volunteers. She is originally from Des Moines, Iowa and recently graduated from Creighton University with degrees in biology and medical anthropology. With passions for service, solidarity, and health equity, EB was drawn to SAME’s commitment to food justice and to the emphasis on community. In her free time, EB enjoys running, reading, and exploring Denver with her community-mates.

Café Coordinator

Victor is a native born Coloradan. He started at SAME Café in 2020 as a high school intern from Aruupe Jesuit High School. He spent his junior and senior year here. He is excited to move into the journey of employement here at SAME as a Cafè Coordinator.

Victor believes that community is what humanity always strives for. In his free time he likes to go to local parks and explore all that Colorado has to offer.
